Published in 1947, this book wrtitten by Oliver Jensen (War Carrier), translated into French by Hervé Cras, tells with precision the campaign of Task Force 58 in the Pacific ocean from April 1944. It starts with landing at Hollandia, on April 21st and successively takes us at Rabaul, in the Gilbert islands, the atoll of Kwadjalein and in many other islands. The story is definitely a living history ; it keeps us on the edge of our seats and explains us, through various human adventures, the tactical and strategic use of the American aircraft carriers in this period of end of war.
