"Feux du ciel" est probablement un des plus connus ouvrages écrit par le célèbrePierre Clostermann, avec "Le Grand Cirque". L'édition que je possède, très abîmée, ayant perdu sa couverture avec le temps, imprimée en 1951, m'a été donnée par mon père quand j'avais environ 12 ans. Et je crois pouvoir dire que c'est ce livre qui a très fortement contribué (ce n'est pas la seule raison) à déclencher cette passion dévorante, pour ne pas dire maladive, qu'est l'aviation de la seconde guerre mondiale.
"Feux du Ciel" ("Fires in the sky") is probably one of the most known book written by the famous Pierre Clostermann, with "Le Grand Cirque" ("the Great Circus"). My issue, quite damaged, which lost its cover in the time, printed in 1951, was given to me by my father when I was approximately 12 years old. I think I may say that this book strongly contributed (it is not the only reason) to emphasize my consuming passion, I should say absolute, that is the aviation of World War II.

Dans ce bouquin, Clostermann retrace avec beaucoup de vie, d'émotion mais également de précision, l'histoire de la guerre aérienne pendant cette période troublée. Des attaques de Stukas en mai 1940 à Maastricht, aux avions kamikazes Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka dans le Pacifique en 1945, en passant par la fin de l'Amiral Yamamoto, abattu par Thomas Lanphier sur P-38, Clostermann nous tient en haleine et nous retrace l'histoire de l'aviation au travers de nombreuses aventures humaines. A lire impérativement ! 
In this book, Clostermann relates with much realism, emotion but also of accurancy, the history of the aerial war during this particular period. To pay tribute to this work, I decided to present les "Feux du Ciel" with pictures. Have a good reading ! From the attacks of Stukas in May 1940 in Maastricht, to the Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka kamikaze aircraft in the Pacific in 1945, but also the end of Admiral Yamamoto, shot down by Thomas Lanphier on his P-38, Clostermann keeps us in suspense and traces the history of aviation through many human adventures. To be read absolutely !
